Instrument Servicing
When enquiring about a repair, please let me know the make/model of your instrument, its age and when it was last serviced (if known). This will help me estimate what it might cost and how long it may take to complete. As a general rule, instruments which have not had regular maintenance will take longer (and cost more) as more work will be required. Pads do not last forever, and older pads do not always survive cleaning and reseating, even if they look to be in reasonable condition. Service usually falls into the below three categories:
Playing Condition
This service is for minor repairs and leaks, including straightening bent keys, replacing touch corks/felts, and replacing up to 4 pads.
Clean, Oil & Adjust
Annual service to keep your instrument in top shape! The instrument will be stripped down and receive full interior and exterior professional cleaning and oiling. Upon reassembly, the key regulation will be fully reset, including changing touch corks and a max. 4 pads.
Overhaul
A complete and thorough mechanical servicing and professional cleaning of the instrument. ALL key corks and pads are replaced
